What can be more exciting than receiving a gift from a friend who
made the gift by hand? What can be more inspiring to get a hand made
gift from a friend who’s a fellow artist and created the gift with your
own fabric design.

Diane Knott created this beautiful bag using some of my Pompeii
fabric By Clothworks. This stitch work has so many intricate gorgeous details.
Featured here are some close-ups. I really love the the fun label she
created. Here is what Diane has to say from her own words: "Making the tote for Sue was so much fun! When she sent me the fabrics, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and make something special for her as a surprise gift for our friendship over the past few years. It was so hard to decide which of the fabrics to use because they all worked together so beautifully! I think these were my favorites though! ;-) Notice the fancy decorative stitching I used on the pocket.....my machine does great embroidery designs so I chose one that I thought suited the pattern on the fabric and did some free-motion stitching with it all around. I know Sue didn't expect this when she sent the fabric to me so I was really happy that it turned out to be a complete surprise! " Thank you so much Diane this was a wonderful surprise. I never would have guessed that she used a sewing machine for the decorative stitching.

Diane Knott
amazes me with all the things she creates. One of her latest ventures
blew me away. Actually it was her and her darling daughter Holly Knott (
I mean it Holly really is darling) . They had their first book
published. Talk about true art for quilters to work with. Although I
am not a quilter I am very inspired by the collaboration of this book.
You can learn more about the book and the up-and-coming signings here
on Holly’s website.
